Despite the fact that I’ve been on holiday last week I feel like I haven’t stopped at all.  Prague was amazing, beautiful architecture and fascinating history.  We must have walked for miles, up hill and down dale, eaten our own body weight in dumplings and actually appreciated how mild it is in England at this time of the year – it was hat, glove and scarf weather over there as my mum showed by modelling my self-made hat which is stretched out of all shape but deliciously warm and doesn’t squash my fringe,

Suggestions that she resembled Benny in Crossroads were not appreciated.  On the home front, Sheldon the turtle from Knitty is coming along great, he’s a lovely pink colour and will be part of Ella’s birthday present.

He has been surprisingly easy to make – I wasn’t sure about him when I started but I actually enjoyed seeing the shell pattern develop and even though he currently only has one leg he’s already a hit with those who’ve been introduced to him.  I’ve also been working on my socks with the yarn gifted to me by my secret pal, which are so soft I can’t wait to wear them.  I’ve been told to expect another parcel this week so I’d better get cracking with them so I can post about them. Yesterday was another lazy Sunday – flea market then Sunday dinner.  Only problem was we forgot about the clocks going back and ended up outside the market an hour before it was due to open!  Well, we couldn’t stand outside in the cold and wait could we?!  One egg and sausage on toast later and we were ready to go…  And here, dear reader, is what I found,

The shot glasses were £1.50 for four and even though I’m not even a shot drinker I couldn’t resist.  The frames are holding two of my purchases from Prague – a Much painting and a picture of the Golem created by Rabbi Loew in Prague’s Josefov.  There was so much lovely touristy stuff to buy but I still didn’t manage to spend all my pennies and ended up buying Toblerone in the airport on the way home.  The diet starts today…
